What Makes YOU Feel Powerful?
The village that I've created throughout my life enables me to feel powerful. With each one of my villagers standing behind me, it reminds me that I can achieve all my goals (which, sometimes, just means making it through the day). Balancing life can sometimes be difficult, but it's important to accomplish the things to which you've set your mind. Being a working mom has made me appreciate even more the family and friends. With their help, support, and love, I've become a better version of myself.
What cheers you up?
Snuggling with my kiddos.
What do you like to do on a cold and rainy day?
Latte and the Children's Museum.
Your favorite city, and quick tips for traveling to that city.
What advice would you give to your 15 year old self?
Be confident in the decisions you make.
An inspiring TED talk you loved.
Ken Robinson's “Do schools kill creativity?” I just watched it again and he's so inspirational. This is especially important at this time for two reasons. First, the focus of my work is on the development of children from low-and-moderate income communities. Second, my eldest child is starting school this year.
Favorite quote from a movie.
“Go-go gadget arms” from Inspector Gadgetreminds me that I can achieve things I think might be out of reach.
